The attempted attack was carried out by a small drone, but Iran’s defence systems prevented any damage. Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi stated that further investigation was needed before confirming the report. In the past, Iran has accused Israel of being behind similar attacks, but Israel has not confirmed or denied responsibility. The news comes after recent Israeli air strikes in Syria that targeted Iran-linked sites and resulted in the deaths of two Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps members.
