Ocean Winds – Moray West is GO!
OW Ocean Winds is proud to announce that they are off and running: according to a post on networking site Linkedin, the offshore installation campaign has begun in Moray West, with the first XXL monopiles heading offshore!
With the support of their supplier, Boskalis, and its heavy lift installation vessel, Bokalift 2, which arrived in Invergordon port on the 1st October 2023, they have loaded the first batch of three monopiles for the two offshore substations, the first of which is loaded and ready to be transported by barge from the Tyne to the Cromarty Firth.
This is just the start, as 26 monopiles have already been marshalled at Invergordon before the installation vessel arrived, and offshore installation will continue as further loads of monopiles are delivered to Invergordon.
With the Financial Close for Moray West reached in April, OW Ocean Winds, are proud to be effectively delivering their Scottish project, with the target set to power up to 1,330,000 million homes with green energy by 2024.
