Zipline Secures $330 Million Funding, Valued at $4.2 Billion for Drone Delivery Expansion
Zipline, a Bay area-based drone delivery company, has raised $330 million in its latest funding round, bringing its valuation to $4.2 billion. This makes it the highest-valued drone delivery company globally and the highest-valued US drone company. Zipline plans to use the funds to continue growing its operations and launch its new home delivery service. The company’s new P2 delivery system will utilise small delivery “droids” in addition to drones, allowing for deliveries to tightly defined or hard-to-reach drop-off locations. Zipline already has partnerships in place with the government of Rwanda, Sweetgreen, Michigan Medicine and MultiCare, among others.

Despite the impressive funding and valuation, will Zipline’s drone delivery expansion truly revolutionize the industry or fall short of expectations? Only time will tell.
