“German Drone Delivery Startup Wingcopter Secures $44M in Funding from EIB to Expand Operations”

German startup Wingcopter has secured €40m ($44m) in funding from the European Investment Bank to develop its hardware and expand its logistics and delivery services. The funding will be used to create a fleet of drones for the new business, which will be anchored by the company’s existing delivery drone technology. Wingcopter has already raised €100m in two previous fundraises, and plans to raise a significant Series B next year. The company has been working with UNICEF in Malawi to deliver medicines to remote areas, and plans to expand this service to other geographies and partnerships.
